Volunteers
Needed | | | Once again, the Woodworkers Guild of Georgia is supporting SkillsUSA Georgia as they host their statewide High School competitions in Woodworking and Cabinetmaking. These events bring together talented students from across the state and rely on experienced craftspeople to serve as judges.
I’m reaching out to ask for volunteers from our Guild who would be willing to help with judging. This is a great opportunity to support woodworking education, encourage young makers, and represent our Guild within the broader trades community.
Judging typically involves reviewing completed projects, evaluating workmanship against provided criteria, and offering brief, constructive feedback. Prior judging experience is not required as SkillsUSA provides guidance and scoring standards.
The request is for a couple of volunteers next Friday, February 20th, and we will coordinate as a group to make participation as easy as possible.
If you’re interested in volunteering or would like more information, please email Scotty or myself to let us know. Your time and experience can make a real difference for these students. I participated last year and found it very rewarding.
Please email one of us below.
Thank you for supporting the craft and the next generation of woodworkers.
