In-Person Again – That was Fun!

After 17 months of being apart, the Guild had it’s first in-person gathering with the Guild picnic in July.  Over 50 people joined in the festivities which included hamburgers, hot dogs, Gary’s special baked beans, some casual tool selling, a small show and tell exhibit, and mostly a good time gathering with friends again.

John Jones kindly gave us access to his large yard to gather mostly in the shade and allowed everyone open access to his equally large shop.  Special thanks to Gary Peterson who helped organize the food preparation along with several supporting cast members at the event.

It was great seeing long time members like Ken Slaughter, many of our regular members, and a guest/now new member Megan Perkins.  We also enjoyed spending more time with some of our members that we did not know as well since we have not been in-person for conversations.

I think everyone enjoyed the event and enjoyed being able to do more than see each other on Zoom.

Our September meeting is being planned to be in-person and on-line.  We will be working out the logistics for that and you will hear more from us at the end of August.

I hope to see you at a meeting soon.
